In 14 Seasons with the Parramatta Eels, no player in the NRL has embodied the notion that hard work reaps rewards more than the second-rower Nathan Hindmarsh. Born in the Southern Highlands town of Bowral, Hindmarsh played his way into the Eels’ first grade side in 1998, making his debut. He became a mainstay of the State of origin and Test level in the early 2000s. He was the seven times winner of Parramatta’s Player of the Year award, the Ken Thornett Medal and the Provan-Summons Medal. He was named the Dally M second Rower of the Year fives times. The one achievement was the elusive premiership title. He is destined to be remembered as an all-time great of the Parramatta club and one of the game’s most popular and enduring figures in the first decade of the 21st century.
